About the event

A panel discussion by Education Technologists (EdTech) to debate the role of EdTech's impact on the "Achievement Gap" or the "Opportunity Gap," depending on perspective. The panel includes the following:

  • Dr. Trina L. C. Coleman, STEM Thought Leader, Media Personality, CEO, Ph.D. Physicist, Public Speaker: Dr. Coleman is the founder of Coleman Comprehensive Solutions, LLC. She crafted a diverse professional portfolio from post-doctoral researcher and faculty member to the executive director, assistant provost, and CIO. Also, Dr. Coleman spearheaded enterprise initiatives as a member of the Howard and Hampton University administrations.
  • Rod Smith, Chief Technology Officer at Clayton County Public Schools: His experiences as a comedian, a teacher, a technology director, and a training specialist have allowed him to develop a keen sense of understanding of how to collaborate with other educators to build models of effective technology implementation that will have the potential to transform schools truly.
  • Bryan Setser, CEO of Setser Group, Executive Edupreneur, DEI Learner, & Bigger Table Builder. He leads a talented squad of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) learners and designers who execute leadership for change and innovation labs for k-12, higher education, and the future of work. Bryan is an experienced executive edupreneur and bigger table builder with three decades of education results and the nation's first Chief Quality Officer at the Baldrige Award Winning district Iredell-Statesville.

This panel provides one of several stakeholders' perspectives in this webinar series: educators, school psychologists, social workers, administrators, and counselors. The series will culminate in a cross-community collaboration session.s
